In this “encounter with Yukiko” we will approach the tea ceremony from your hand.
“Ichigo Ichie” is the word that represents the essence of the tea ceremony. The term translates as “only once in a lifetime” and means that for both the host and the guests, this meeting is unique and can never be repeated, so prepare the tea ceremony with your utmost hospitality and thanks. What a cup, how sweet, what flower, the temperature of the water, the silence of the space, etc., the host prepares everything thinking about the guests.
In this workshop everyone will design a cup for someone with whom they want to share a unique moment in life.
Workshop content:
The artist and conductor of the workshop Yukiko Murata will explain with slides and a demonstration of the tea ceremony, the philosophy of “omotenashi” (hospitality).
