WHAT ARE COOKIES?
Cookies are small files that are installed on the hard drive or browser of your computer, tablet, smartphone, or equivalent internet-enabled device. WHAT TYPES OF COOKIES EXIST?
According to the entity that manages them:
• First-party cookies: These are sent to the user’s terminal equipment from a computer or domain managed by the publisher itself, from which the service requested by the user is provided.
• Third-party cookies: These are sent to the user’s terminal equipment from a computer or domain not managed by the publisher, but by another entity that processes the data obtained through the cookies.
According to the length of time they remain active on the terminal equipment:
• Session cookies: These are designed to collect and store data while the user accesses a website. They are typically used to store information that is only needed to provide the service requested by the user on a single occasion (for example, a list of purchased products) and disappear when the session ends.
• Persistent cookies: These are cookies where the data remains stored on the device and can be accessed and processed for a period defined by the cookie provider, ranging from a few minutes to several years.
Depending on the purpose for which the data obtained through cookies is processed:
• Technical cookies: These are cookies that allow the user to navigate through a website, platform, or application and use the different options or services available on it, including those used by the publisher to manage and operate the website and enable its functions and services, such as, for example, controlling data traffic and communication, identifying the session, accessing restricted areas, remembering items in an order, processing an order, managing payment, controlling fraud related to service security, processing registration or participation requests for an event, counting visits for billing purposes for software licenses used by the service (website, platform, or application), using security features during navigation, storing content for video or audio playback, enabling dynamic content (for example, text or image loading animations), or sharing content through social networks. Also belonging to this category, due to their technical nature, are those cookies that allow for the most efficient management of advertising spaces. These spaces, as an additional element of the design or layout of the service offered to the user, are included by the publisher on a website, application, or platform based on criteria such as the published content. No user information is collected for other purposes, such as personalizing advertising or other content.
• Preference or personalization cookies: These cookies allow the service to remember information so that the user can access it with certain characteristics that may differentiate their experience from that of other users. Examples include language, the number of results to display when the user performs a search, the appearance or content of the service depending on the type of browser used to access the service, or the region from which the service is accessed, etc.

The information collected through these types of cookies is used to measure the activity of the websites, applications, or platforms in order to introduce improvements based on the analysis of user data.
• Advertising cookies: These cookies allow for the most effective management of advertising spaces that the publisher may have included on a website, application, or platform from which the requested service is provided, based on criteria such as the content displayed or the frequency with which the ads are shown.
• Behavioral advertising cookies: These cookies allow for the most effective management of advertising spaces that the publisher may have included on a website, application, or platform from which the requested service is provided. These cookies store information about user behavior obtained through continuous observation of their browsing habits, allowing the development of a specific profile to display advertising based on that profile.
