“Batecs” (Emergents)

With “Batecs” (Beats), made up of two stoneware sculptures and an audiovisual I wanted to engage the interior and the exterior in a dialogue. The construction method that I have been using since a while ago produces two opposite faces, one with concave relieves and the other with convex. A watchful eye on this duality leads me to decide doing two very similar forms, but not the same, showing one of them the convex face and the other one the concave. This way it’s being created the game of one of them showing what the other one hides. The audiovisual shows a little route inside one of the works during its creation and before it closes up and its interior is hidden permanently.
